Igor Perovic is quietly doing his own magic in Tuebingen. After bringing in rookie Douglas Davis, he has now brought in another rookie with Kenny Frease (213-C-89). Frease is a 22 year old 213 cm center that played four years at Xavier (NCAA) from 2008-2012 and appeared in a total of 137 NCAA games. In his senior year he played 36 games averaging 10.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.1 bpg, FGP: 51.4%, FT: 56.9%. He helped lead Xavier to three Sweet Sixteen appearances during his career and in the final 10 games of this season (including 3 in the NCAA Tournament) he averaged 14.5 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.1 bpg, while shooting 57.1% 2-pt FG.
This past summer the big man had workouts with the Cleveland Cavaliers & Minnesota Timberwolves and Tigers manager Robert Wintermantel added these comments about Frease. ”What I like about his game is how he works under the basket. He is very consistent under the basket and is a good target for his players. We are happy having found a real center.”
